Rakesh Marble & Granite

Rakesh Marble & Granite is located right where all the action is in the Marble Market. We are on the service road along the Western Express Highway in Vile Parle East. It is a very busy spot because the airport is right there, so we hear planes going over all day long. The dust is something we just got used to over the years. You can’t really avoid it when you are moving slabs of stone around every day. We spend most of our mornings unloading trucks that come in with new stock of granite and marble. It is heavy work and takes a lot of effort from everyone here. We have all kinds of pieces leaning against the walls, and people stop their cars on the side road to come in and take a look. Some know exactly what they want, and others just wander around touching the different stones to see how they feel. It is a bit noisy with the highway traffic right next to us, but it makes it easy for deliveries to get in and out. We don't have a big showroom with air conditioning; it is just a practical space for holding inventory and showing it to whoever walks in. We keep a ledger on the main desk to track everything. It has been our routine for a long time. We just show up, move some stone, and talk to the regulars who come by for their building projects. It is a simple way to do business.
