Rak Ceramics

Our office is over on L.B.S Marg in Mulund West. We’re in the Niwara building, number 24-B. Being in Mumbai, it’s always crowded and there’s always noise coming from the street outside. We deal with ceramics, mostly tiles and things for bathrooms or floors. The boxes are heavy, and we spend a lot of time moving them around the back area to make room for new stuff coming in. It’s not the most glamorous job, but people always need tiles. We get a lot of people dropping in who are just looking for ideas, and we let them wander around the samples we have leaning against the walls. It’s a bit cramped in here because we try to keep so much in stock. We don’t have those fancy coffee machines or a big reception area. It’s just a desk, some chairs, and a lot of ceramic. Sometimes the deliveries from the warehouse take a bit longer because of the Mumbai traffic, but everyone around here is used to that. We just try to be honest about what we have and when it can get there. We’ve been in Mulund for a good stretch now and we know the neighborhood well. It’s just us, working through the orders and making sure the shop stays open for whoever needs us, even on the days when the rain is pouring down outside and the streets are flooded.
