Rahul R Shah

Nehru Nagar is a crowded part of the city, and the Phoenix Building stands right there by Kennedy Bridge. I am up on the 2nd floor in office number 475. It is a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, which happens more often than I would like to admit. My name is Rahul R Shah and this office is where I do my daily work and handle my paperwork. The space is pretty much full of paper. Files are stacked on the desk and sometimes even on the floor when we run out of shelf space for the month. It’s not the most modern office you will ever see, but I know exactly where everything is located. The sounds from the traffic on Kennedy Bridge never really stop, so there is always a low hum in the background while I work. Clients come in and out during the day, sitting in the chairs across from my desk to talk about what they need. I’ve been in this building for quite some time now. You eventually get used to the rhythm of the place and the neighbors in the other offices. The tea man comes around twice a day, which is a nice break from the computer. I spend a lot of time on the phone or typing away at my desk. It’s honest work and it keeps me busy from the morning until it gets dark outside. We just handle things one file at a time.
