Rachna Images

Rachna Images is up on the 3rd floor over at Century Mill, on Kumbharwada Lane near Maruti Mandir Marg. Being on the third floor means we have to carry everything up the stairs, which can be a bit of a workout. The space is filled with equipment for images and printing. We have several machines that take up most of the room. It smells a bit like ink and paper in here most days. We have been doing this for a while and the walls are covered with old test prints and random photos. It’s not a very organized place, but we know where everything is. The windows look out over the lane, but they are usually a bit grimy from the city air. We don't have a big sign downstairs, so people usually have to know we are here to find us. We get a lot of regular customers who have been coming to us for years. It’s a lot of manual work, making sure the colors look right and that the paper doesn't jam in the old printers we use. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to spend the whole afternoon with a wrench trying to get them started again. It’s just part of the daily routine. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s just a workshop where we get things printed and ready for whoever needs them.
