R K Marble Creation

We are right at Shop No 1 in Asha Nagar, which is in Santacruz East. If you know where the Milan Subway is, we are very close to that. Being near the subway means there is a constant rumble of cars and bikes going past our door all day long. It gets quite dusty here because of all the marble we have stacked up. We spend a lot of time moving heavy slabs around and showing people the different patterns in the stone. Marble is heavy and it is hard work to get it loaded onto the trucks. We have been here in Santacruz for a while and have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. Sometimes people come in just to look at the colors or to ask how much a square foot costs for their kitchen. We try to keep the shop organized but with so much stone, it is always a bit of a puzzle. We don’t do a lot of fancy advertising; people usually just find us because they live nearby or they are passing through the subway area. The rain can be a bit of a problem during the monsoon because the water gets close to the entrance, but we manage. It’s just us here, dealing with the stone and helping folks pick out what they need for their floors or counters.
