Priyansh Sculpture Studio

If you look for Room No. D1 at Plot No. 857 in Siddhi Ganesh Society, you'll find us. We're right in Sector 8 of Charkop, tucked in the lane next to Askhara School. Priyansh Sculpture Studio is a workspace where there's usually a lot of dust from the materials we use. It’s not a clean office. You’ll find clay or stone bits on the floor most days. We spend a lot of time working with our hands. Sometimes the noise from the school next door gets pretty loud during recess, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. The studio isn't very large, so we have to be careful where we step so we don't knock any of the sculptures over. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we have big projects going on. We usually have a few pieces in different stages of being finished sitting around the room. The lighting is okay during the day because of the window, but we use extra lamps when it gets dark early. People from the society often peek in through the door to see what we’re making today. It’s just a simple place where we do the actual work. We don't have a receptionist or anything fancy. If the door is open, someone is usually inside working on a figure or a base. It gets really hot in the afternoons, but that’s just Mumbai for you. We keep a big bottle of water and an old radio going to pass the time while we carve.
