Mughal Art Company

Mughal Art Company is tucked away in Florence House on Mery Whether Road. We are right behind the Taj Mahal Hotel in Colaba, which is a very famous part of Mumbai. The building itself is quite old and has that specific smell of old stone and sea air. Our space is a bit cramped because we have so many items piled up. We deal in different kinds of art pieces, and honestly, the place is a bit of a maze. You have to be careful where you step so you don't knock anything over. It’s a lot quieter on our street than it is out on the main Colaba Causeway. We don't get a huge amount of foot traffic, mostly just people who are specifically looking for us or residents of the area. I spend a lot of time just rearranging things and checking on the stock. The humidity here in Mumbai can be a bit of a problem for some of the older pieces, so we have to keep an eye on that. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who have been here for years. It’s a nice enough place to spend the day, even if it gets a bit stuffy in the summer. We just take things as they come and try to keep the shop running smoothly. It’s an interesting area to work in, even if the building is a bit leaky when it rains.
