Prestige Optical Trading

We are right near Crawford Market, which means it’s always loud and crowded around us. Our shop is 96/97 on the first floor of the Ashoka Shopping Center. If you’ve ever been to this part of town, you know how it is. There are people everywhere and motorcycles squeezed into every gap. Walking up to the first floor, you pass a lot of other shops. It’s a maze of small businesses. Our place is full of frames and glass. We have display cases that we have to clean every single day because of the dust from the street. There’s a specific smell of plastic and cleaning fluid here. We have a small stool behind the counter where we sit. The lighting is bright so people can see the details of what they’re looking at. Sometimes the ceiling fan rattles a bit, but we’re used to it. We spend a lot of time talking to customers and trying to find the right fit for them. It’s not a fancy boutique. It’s a practical shop in a very old shopping center. We keep our records in big ledger books and some on the computer too. When the market shuts down for the evening, the whole building gets quiet. It’s a strange contrast to the noise during the day. We just pack up and head out with everyone else. The gate for the building closes at nine.
