Prashant Marble

We run Prashant Marble over in Vakola, right on Nehru Road. Our spot is near the Vakola Bridge, and the Vakola Police Station is just a short walk away. It’s a very busy junction with a lot of traffic passing by at all hours. Because we deal with marble, our yard is usually filled with large slabs and pieces of stone leaning against the walls. It’s heavy work, and there is often a bit of white dust on the floor and the furniture. We don't have a polished showroom with bright lights. Most of our stock is kept out where it can be seen under natural light. People usually come in with their measurements and look through what we have on hand. The office part is just a small corner with a desk and some chairs where we sit to talk about the stone. It’s a bit noisy with the bridge traffic right there, but we are used to the rumble of the trucks. The staff here has been around for a while, so we just know how to handle the stone and the customers without a lot of talking. It’s a very practical, hands-on kind of business. We aren't trying to be fancy. We just show the marble, tell people what it is, and help them get it loaded up. It’s a simple way to earn a living in a busy neighborhood.
