Prashant J Thacker

I'm up on the 8th Floor of the C Wing in Trade World, which is right in Lower Parel on Barne Road. It is a big building and sometimes the lifts take forever to arrive, especially during lunch. Prashant J Thacker is the name on the door, but it’s a pretty simple setup inside. Lower Parel is always bustling with people working in all kinds of businesses. From my window, you can see a lot of the Mumbai skyline and the traffic down below. The office itself is mostly just desks, computers, and a lot of coffee mugs. It gets quite busy during the middle of the week. I spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at documents. Being in Trade World means there are always people moving around in the hallways. It’s a very different feel from a street-level shop. You feel a bit tucked away up here. I usually get in early to beat the worst of the commute and stay until the work is done. There’s no corporate ladder or anything here, just me and a few others getting through the day's tasks. We don't have any fancy mission statements hanging on the wall. We just focus on the folders in front of us. Sometimes the air conditioning is a bit too cold, but we manage. It’s just a regular office life in a busy part of the city. We keep things moving as best as we can.
