Finding us at Sarvodaya Bhavan can be a little tricky if you aren't looking closely. Perfect Smile Dental Care Clinic is tucked away in the A Wing on the ground floor. Being on the ground floor is nice because nobody has to wait for the lift, which usually takes ages in these older buildings anyway. Dadar West is always crowded, especially Gokhale Road, so once you step inside our door, the quiet is a bit of a surprise. We’ve been at Flat No 7 for a long time. The paint on the walls is a light cream color that we chose years ago, and it’s held up okay, though there are a few scuffs near the floorboards where people kick their shoes off. We have a small desk where we keep the ledger and the phone. The phone rings a lot, and sometimes the reception is bad because of the thick walls. We usually have a radio playing low in the background, mostly just to drown out the sound of the traffic outside. There’s a specific smell of cleaning supplies and old paper that stays in the air. We don’t have a big staff, just a couple of us who know where everything is kept. It’s a practical space, nothing too fancy or modern. We just show up, open the shutters, and get to work. Most days are pretty much the same, and we like the familiarity of this spot in Dadar.
