Parmar Constructions

Out in Pune, down around Ghule Nagar in Vadgaon Budruk, you’ll find us at G 1. The name on the paper is Parmar Constructions, but it’s mostly just me and a few guys doing the actual labor. We spend our days dealing with cement, steel, and a lot of Pune dust. Even though the address mentions Vile Parle, we are firmly rooted in the Vadgaon Budruk area. It’s been growing so fast lately that every time I turn around, there’s a new wall going up. My office is basically just a spot to keep my boots and some messy blueprints. I don't really have a secretary or a fancy phone system. If the phone rings and I’m not near it, I just call back later. Building things is hard on the body, especially when the sun is high, but I’ve been doing this for years. I don’t use any of those big words to describe the houses or walls we put up. We just use decent materials and hope the rain stays away while the roof is going on. It’s a noisy, messy business, but it keeps us busy. Sometimes the trucks are late or the sand isn't the right grade, and we just have to figure it out as we go. It’s not a shiny corporate job, but it’s what we do here in G 1. Just hard work every single day.
