Padma Prabhu Granite & Marbles

Our shop is at Plot No: 487 on the Ndheri Kurla Road. It’s a pretty busy stretch of road, especially being so close to the Popular Car Bazar. If you’ve ever tried to drive through Anderi, you know the traffic can be a real headache. Padma Prabhu Granite & Marbles is basically a place filled with slabs of stone stacked up. We spend our days moving these heavy pieces around, trying not to chip the edges. It’s a lot of physical labor. The air usually has that thin layer of stone dust in it. We have different types of marbles and granites sitting around, some from nearby and some from further away. Customers come in off the street, sometimes they are just looking, other times they have a specific project in mind. We don't have any smooth talking salesmen here. It is just us showing what is available on the floor. The noise from the Kurla Road never really stops, so we have to talk loud sometimes. It’s not a quiet or clean job, but it’s what we do. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit over the years, more cars and more buildings going up. We just stay here in our corner of Plot 487, handling the inventory and making sure the trucks can get in and out without blocking too much of the main road. It gets tiring by the end of the day, but that’s just how work is.
