If you go down Narshi Natha Street, you will see Vyapar Bhavan at 368/370. We are up on the third floor in room 302. P.Dalal & Co. has been operating out of this office for quite some time now. The street downstairs is always packed with trucks and people carrying sacks, so getting into the building can be a bit of a squeeze during the middle of the day. Inside our office, it is mostly just desks, files, and the sound of the ceiling fan clicking away. We deal with a lot of paperwork and phone calls throughout the day. It is a private company setup, but it feels more like a small family thing because we all know each other so well. There is no big lobby or a receptionist in a uniform. You just walk in and someone will probably look up from a ledger to ask what you need. We spend a lot of time looking at numbers and making sure the accounts are right. The building itself is old and has that specific smell of old concrete and spice from the market outside. Sometimes we have tea brought up in small glasses while we discuss the day's tasks. It is not a glamorous job, but it is steady. We handle our business quietly and try to stay organized despite the chaos of the Narshi Natha trade area. It is just how we do things every single day here.
