O Momos is right on Mahakali Caves Road in Andheri East. It’s a busy street with lots of buses and cars going up and down all day. Our shop isn't very large, just a simple setup with the steamers going at the front. You can see the steam rising up whenever we lift the lids. It gets quite humid inside because of that, especially when the weather is already sticky. We spend a lot of time folding the dough. My fingers get a bit stiff by the end of the shift. We get a mix of students and people working in the nearby buildings. They usually stand around on the sidewalk while they eat. There’s a big tree nearby that gives some shade in the afternoons, which is nice for everyone. We’ve been here for a bit, seeing the road get dug up and fixed back again several times. The plastic plates we use are stacked high near the sink. We try to keep the area out front swept, but with so many people passing by, it’s a constant job. The sign outside has a bit of a flicker in one of the lights, but we haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. It’s just a regular day-to-day business for us here. We keep the water boiling and wait for the hungry crowd to show up. Most people like to add extra spicy sauce, so we make sure the containers are always full and ready to go before the clock hits five and things get really hectic.
