Nitco Tiles Ltd

Our place, Nitco Tiles Ltd, is located in Shivnagar, over in Juna Gondhalpada. If you know Alibag, you know it's a coastal kind of place. We spend a lot of time moving heavy boxes of tiles around. It's dusty work but someone has to do it. The warehouse is big and can get quite hot in the Maharashtra sun. We’ve been here in the Raigad district for quite a while now. Most of our days are spent checking inventory and talking to folks who are building their homes. We aren't some sleek showroom you see in the big cities. We've got stacks of ceramics and stone everywhere. Sometimes the trucks arrive late because of the traffic on the way from Mumbai, but we manage. The staff here has been with us for years. We know the local builders by their first names. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just sell tiles. If you need something for a floor or a wall, we probably have it buried in a stack somewhere. We try to keep the place organized, but with so many different sizes and colors, it’s a constant battle. It’s a practical business, nothing more. We don't have air conditioning in the main area, just big doors to let the breeze in. The accounts are mostly done on paper because the computer is temperamental. It’s just a normal day at the shop for us in Alibag.
