Nikhil Sandwich

You can find Nikhil Sandwich located in the Railway Hotel Building, right around K S Town 50-52 on 1st D Main Road in the Fort area. Being in an older building like the Railway Hotel gives the place a bit of character, even if the walls could use a fresh coat of paint here and there. We spend most of our mornings slicing vegetables and getting the bread ready for the rush. The Fort area is always moving, especially with the station nearby, so we see a lot of people in a hurry. We try to work fast so nobody is waiting too long on their way to catch a train or get to their office. It’s a small operation, just us and a couple of helpers. The kitchen gets cramped when we are busy, but we’ve learned how to stay out of each other's way over the years. We aren't trying to be some gourmet spot. We just make sandwiches for people who need a quick bite. The 1st D Main Road gets pretty noisy with all the buses and taxis, but we don't mind it much. We’ve been here long enough that the sounds of the city just feel like background noise now. We keep things simple and just focus on getting through the daily pile of orders. It’s hard work, but seeing the same people every day makes it worth the effort. It is just how things go for us.
