If you walk down Gokhale Road in Dadar West, you eventually find Hedavkar Wadi No 1, and that’s where Neha Foods is. It’s a place that usually smells like something is being prepared, which I guess is what you’d expect from a food business. We don’t have a massive industrial kitchen, just a workspace that we’ve managed to fit everything into over the years. The mornings are the busiest time because that’s when everything gets started. There’s a lot of chopping, mixing, and the sound of gas stoves being lit up. We’ve had the same people working here for ages, so we don't even have to talk much to know what the other person is doing. The address, 41349, is home to a lot of activity every single day of the week. We try to keep the counters clean, but when you’re working with flour and spices, things tend to get a bit messy by noon. People from the nearby buildings often stick their heads in to see what’s going on. We don’t do any of that fancy marketing stuff you see online; we just make the food and hope people like it enough to come back. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and dealing with the heat, but it’s what we know how to do. Dadar is a busy neighborhood, and we are just happy to be a small part of it.
