Navkar Granites

You can find us in Phase 4 of the GIDC Estate, over near Aai Colony. This part of the estate is always busy with heavy machinery and people moving stone. We spend our entire day surrounded by slabs of granite. There is always a layer of fine dust on everything, no matter how much we sweep the floors or wipe down the desks. The sound of the cutters is something you just get used to after a week of working here. We have a small office area, but most of the time we are out on the floor checking the pieces or talking to the drivers who bring in the raw blocks. Navkar Granites has been in this GIDC spot for a while now. We know the tea stall guy at the corner and the other business owners in Phase 4. It is a tough environment because the granite is so heavy and you have to be careful not to chip the edges while moving things. We use the overhead cranes a lot, and that makes a lot of noise throughout the morning. Lunch is usually a quick break before we get back to moving more stone. The sun beats down on the estate during the middle of the day, making the stone hot to the touch. It is just a basic industrial setup, nothing fancy to look at, just a lot of hard work and heavy lifting every day.
