Nav Jeevan Clinic

Nav Jeevan Clinic is located on Navi Mill Road, right near Sambhaji Chowk in Kurla. It’s a lively area of Mumbai, and there is always something happening right outside our door. The clinic itself is small, just enough space for the doctor’s desk, an examination table, and a few chairs for people waiting. We see a lot of local residents who come in for fever, coughs, or just general check-ups. During the monsoon season, the road outside gets quite muddy, so we are always mopping the floor to keep the clinic clean. We have a small glass cabinet where we keep the basic medicines and supplies. It isn't a place with a lot of high-tech gadgets, just the essential tools we need to help the people who live around Sambhaji Chowk. The walls are painted a light blue, though they could probably use a fresh coat soon. I usually sit at the front and handle the register while the doctor sees patients one by one. We don't have a computer system, so everything is written down in a big ledger book. It’s a simple way of doing things, but it has worked for us for years. People stop by to chat even when they aren't sick, which makes the day go by faster. We close up around eight in the evening once the street starts to quiet down a little bit.
