Jalaram Stationery & Xerox

We have been down here in the basement of Mittal Tower at Nariman Point for quite a few years now. Most people find us when they are in a rush to get documents copied or need a specific pen that ran out right before a big meeting. It gets a bit cramped with all the paper reams and the machines running, but that is just how a stationery shop is. We spend most of our mornings opening up boxes and making sure the Xerox machines are actually working like they should. Sometimes the humidity makes the paper jam, which is a real pain, but we fix it and keep going. People from the offices upstairs come in and out all day long. We know most of the regular messengers and clerks by name. It is not a fancy place by any means. There are stacks of notebooks and files everywhere you look. We try to keep things organized so we can find what a customer wants quickly, even if it looks a bit messy to an outsider. Being in Nariman Point means things move fast, so we just try to keep up with the demand for prints and basic office stuff. It’s mostly just us handling the counter and making sure the ink doesn't run out mid-job. We have a small corner where we keep the staplers and glue sticks. Often we're just busy sorting out change or stapling large sets of papers together for someone's court case or a big presentation.
