Mudra Publication

If you come looking for Mudra Publication, you’ll find us on the 2nd floor of the Sancy C building. We are in Shop No 13, right near the Masjid. It’s a busy area, and the stairs up to the second floor are quite steep. We’ve been hauling boxes of paper and books up those stairs for a long time, and it never gets any easier. The shop itself is crammed with stacks of printed materials and old shelves that bow a little in the middle. There isn't much room to walk around once we have a new shipment in. The 2nd floor is a bit quieter than the ground level where all the shops are, but you can still hear the calls from the Masjid several times a day. It provides a steady rhythm to our work hours. The lighting inside Sancy C isn't the best, so we have a few extra lamps sitting on the packing tables. We don't have a fancy display window or a sign that lights up. Most of the time, the door is left open to get some air moving through the space. It’s a working shop, through and through. There’s ink on the desks and tape dispensers everywhere. It’s just us doing what needs to be done to get the publications out the door and down those stairs. We usually have a stack of old newspapers in the corner that we use for padding when we pack up the orders. Sometimes we run out of tape and have to run down to the ground floor to get more from the hardware stall. It's a good excuse to stretch our legs and get out of the shop for a minute.
