Mr S M Thakkar

Mr S M Thakkar runs things from Shop No M/6 inside the Faiz Qutbi Building. We are located in the Masjid area, right opposite where the Ing Vaishya Bank used to be or is known. It is a very old and busy part of town. If you have ever been to Masjid, you know how the streets are always packed with people and goods. Our shop is just one of many in the building, but we’ve been here long enough that people know where to find us. The space is small and filled with ledgers and things we need for the day. We don't have much in the way of decoration. It is a functional place for business. Working here means you get used to the noise of the street and the constant movement of the neighborhood. We handle various bits of business that come our way, mostly dealing with people face to face. It’s a very traditional way of doing things, really. We don't spend time on the computer much except for what is absolutely necessary. It is more about the talk and the handshake here. The building itself has its own character, like most things in this part of Mumbai. We just open up the shop in the morning and see what the day brings. It’s been our routine for a long time and we don’t plan on changing it much.
