Modern Road Makers is based at the IRB Complex in Chandivili Farm. We are in the Andheri East area, right in Chandivili Village. Making roads in a city like Mumbai is never an easy task. There is always traffic to deal with and the weather is rarely on our side. We spend most of our time out on the actual job sites rather than sitting in the office. Our crew is made up of guys who have been doing this for years. They know how to handle the heavy rollers and the hot tar without complaining too much. It is a loud and dirty job but it has to be done. We don't have any polished speeches about what we do. We just look at the plans, bring in the trucks, and start laying the asphalt. Sometimes the neighbors get annoyed with the noise, but that’s just how road work goes. Our office in Andheri is where we keep the equipment keys and do the basic paperwork. We aren't a big corporate giant. We are just a local company that knows the streets of this city well. We’ve worked on many small roads and bigger paths around here. It’s tiring work and we are usually exhausted by the end of the shift. But seeing a smooth road where there used to be holes is a good feeling. We just keep at it every day and try to finish before the rains start.
