Maskati Eye Clinic

Maskati Eye Clinic is up on the first floor of the Harishanker Building. We’re right on M Karve Road in the Charni Road area. It’s a very busy part of Mumbai, and the building is one of those typical older ones you see around here. You have to walk up the stairs to get to us. Once you’re inside, it’s mostly about eyes. We spend the day doing vision tests, checking prescriptions, and helping people who are having trouble seeing clearly. The light in the clinic is kept a bit dim in some areas because of the eye exams. It’s a small team here, so we all end up doing a bit of everything, from answering the phone to cleaning the equipment. M Karve Road is always loud with the sounds of the local trains nearby and the traffic, but we’ve gotten used to it. Sometimes patients have a hard time finding the entrance because the signs on the street are a bit crowded, but they usually make it up the stairs eventually. We have a lot of files stacked up because we’ve seen so many people over the years. It’s not a fancy modern office with leather chairs. It’s a working clinic where we focus on the task at hand. We see a lot of elderly people who need help with their sight, and some younger ones who spend too much time on their phones. We just do our work and go home when the sun finally goes down.
