Marshalls Software is mostly just us working from where we are. It’s a very small setup. We spend our days looking at code and fixing bugs. It is a lot of quiet work. Sometimes we meet up at a cafe if we need to talk things through in person, but mostly it's all done digitally. This way of working works for us because we don't have to deal with rent or a long commute. We started doing this a few years back. It’s not a fancy software house with bean bags and free snacks. It is just a few laptops and a lot of coffee. We handle various software tasks as they come in. Some days are very long when a project is due. Other days are slower and we can take a break to go for a walk. We don't have a big boss or a corporate structure. We just talk to each other and get the coding done. It’s a simple life. We like being able to focus on the technical side without the distractions of a big office. Even though we are just an email address basically, we take the work seriously and stay busy throughout the week. That's the reality of it. We keep things moving from our screens.
