Our office is located in the Whispering Piams Shopping Complex, right on Akuril Road in Lokhandwala, Kandivli West. It is a pretty well-known spot in this part of Mumbai, mostly because of how crowded the road gets during the evenings. Being in a shopping complex means we have a lot of different businesses around us, from small shops to other offices like ours. The S/53 unit is where we spend most of our time dealing with chemical orders and talking to suppliers. It is not a huge space, but it fits our desks and the files we need to keep track of everything. Working in Kandivli means you get used to the noise from the street and people coming in and out of the complex all day. We usually grab tea from the local stall nearby when things get a bit hectic with the phone calls. The area has changed a lot over the years, with more buildings coming up, but our routine stays mostly the same. We come in, check the messages, and get to work on the logistics side of things. It’s a lot of manual tracking and making sure the deliveries are headed to the right places. Sometimes the elevators in the complex are a bit slow, so we end up taking the stairs. It is just a normal, everyday work environment where we try to stay organized amidst all the chemicals and paperwork we handle daily.
