Malpani Hospital

Malpani Hospital is situated at Jamuna Sagar on SBS Road in Colaba. Colaba is such a busy, historic part of the city, and being on SBS Road means we’re right in the thick of it. The building itself has that old Colaba feel to it. It’s not a modern glass skyscraper; it’s a sturdy, older place that has seen a lot of years. Inside, we have rooms for patients and a small area for waiting. The hallways are a bit narrow, as you’d expect in an older building in this area. We get all sorts of people walking in, from locals who have lived in Colaba their whole lives to people who are just passing through. It can get pretty noisy outside with the traffic and the tourists, but inside we try to keep it as quiet as a hospital can be. The staff here is used to the hustle. We don't have a big fancy lobby, just a simple entrance where you check in. Sometimes the lift is a bit slow, so a lot of us just use the stairs. We’ve been part of the SBS Road landscape for a long time. It’s just a place where we do the work of taking care of people. We don't use a lot of fancy medical jargon if we can help it. We just tell you what's going on and what needs to be done. We keep some extra chairs in the hallway for when it gets really packed. The reception desk is a bit worn down, but it works fine for us.
