Golden Granites

If you come down to Rathodi Village and look for the Rajput Marble Market, you will find us at Plot No. 10E. This part of Marve Road is always a bit dusty because of all the stone being moved around, but that is just how a marble market is. We spend most of our time out in the yard looking at the granite slabs. Every piece of stone has a different pattern, so we spend a lot of time moving them around so people can see the grain. It is heavy work, and our boots are usually covered in white dust by the end of the day. The sun beats down on the plot, so we try to get the heavy lifting done early in the morning before it gets too hot. There is always a truck idling somewhere nearby, waiting to be loaded or unloaded. We have a small cabin where we keep the books and take a break, but mostly we are outside. It is not a quiet place, what with the sound of cranes and the workers shouting to be heard over the noise of the traffic on Marve Road. We have been at this plot for a good amount of time and we know most of the other guys in the market. It is a busy life, and there is always another shipment of granite coming in from the quarries. We just keep moving.
