Our workshop is located right opposite the Kurar Police Station in Malad East. It’s a busy spot near Shantaram Talav, and the noise from the street is something we just live with. We have a bunch of sewing machines going almost all day. We make jerseys, shorts, and all sorts of athletic gear. It’s not a high-end factory; it’s more of a local setup where we know all our tailors by name. Sometimes the thread gets everywhere, and we have to spend an hour just cleaning up at the end of the shift. We started with just two machines and slowly added more as more local teams asked us for uniforms. People come by and drop off samples of what they want, and we try our best to match the colors and the stitching. It’s a bit cramped inside, especially when we have a big order for a school tournament. We don’t do big marketing campaigns. Usually, a coach from one school tells another coach about us, and that’s how we stay busy. Mahatma Phule Nagar is always full of people, and everyone knows the landmark of the police station. We work hard, drink a lot of tea, and try to make sure the seams are straight. It’s practical work for practical people. We don't have fancy titles here, just people who know how to sew and cut fabric and manage the daily bustle of the shop.
