Mahavir Orthopaedic And General Hospital is situated on BR Road in Mulund West. The address is written twice on some of our mail, but it is just the one spot on the road. Mulund is a busy residential and commercial suburb, and BR Road sees a fair amount of traffic. Our hospital is a place where we see a lot of different cases. We have the orthopedic side where we deal with bones and joints, so you often see people with bandages or walking with crutches in the hallway. Then we have the general side for regular illnesses. The building has a plain look and the interior is designed to be practical for moving stretchers and wheelchairs. The tiles on the floor are white and we spend a lot of time keeping them clean because of all the people coming in from the street. There is a small counter at the entrance where you check in. The staff stays busy with the patients and there is usually a bit of a wait during the peak hours. We have fans on the ceiling that hum all day long. Outside, you can hear the sounds of Mulund life, like the rickshaws and the vendors. It is a no-nonsense kind of place. We just focus on the daily tasks and making sure the patients are looked after. The rooms are basic but they have what is needed for the doctors to do their jobs.
