M. Kantilal Exports

We are based in the Panchratana building at Opera House. Our office is number 1205. Being on the twelfth floor gives us a bit of a view, though mostly we’re just looking at the desks and the stones we’re working with. M. Kantilal Exports has been part of this hub for a long time. The building is always crowded with people in the diamond trade. You have to wait forever for the elevators sometimes, which is a bit of a pain when you're in a hurry. Inside the office, it’s relatively quiet compared to the street noise below. We spend hours sorting through things and making sure the export documents are in order. It’s a lot of detail work that makes your eyes tired by the end of the day. We usually eat our lunch together at the back table. Nothing fancy, just home-cooked food. We don't really bother with big meetings or presentations. We just get the requirements from the clients and try to fulfill them. It’s a steady pace. Sometimes we stay late when a big shipment is due, but usually, we wrap up when the market starts to quiet down. It’s a tight space but we’ve made it our own over the years with some old cupboards and a few lucky plants near the window. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. It’s been our second home for decades.
