Liyakat Ali Shaikh

This is the place of Liyakat Ali Shaikh. The address is a bit long to say, it is Bunglow No 296 2353 Motilal, over near Mahakali Caves Road, between Goregaon West and Andheri East. It is an old bungalow that has been part of the family for a very long time. It does not look like a typical office building you might see in the city. There is a small garden area out front that has grown a bit wild over the years. We use a couple of the rooms inside for our daily business. It is a lot quieter here than being right out on the main highway. You can still hear the birds in the morning, which is a rare thing for this part of Mumbai. Inside, it is mostly just old furniture and stacks of files that have piled up. We do not have any shiny signs outside. Most people who come here already know the way or they have been told how to find the bungalow by someone else. We do our own paperwork and handle everything ourselves. It is a very personal way of running things. Sometimes the roof leaks a little when the monsoon gets really heavy, so we have to move the desks around to keep things dry. It is not a perfect setup, but it belongs to us. We have been operating from here for many years now. It feels like home.
