Lecturer

You can find me over at Agrawal Nikethan on Navghar Road, right in Bhayander East. I’m in room 303. It’s a busy part of Thane, especially with the Ganga Collection nearby which everyone around here knows as a major landmark. Being a lecturer in this area means I’m always on the move between home and the college. The building isn’t brand new, but it’s home for me for the time being. I spend a lot of my time at the desk here, surrounded by textbooks and loose sheets of paper that never seem to get filed away. Navghar Road can get pretty packed during the day, so I usually try to get my commuting done early to avoid the worst of it. My life revolves around the academic calendar. When the semester is in full swing, I’m barely at home except to sleep and prepare more materials for the next group of students. There’s always a lot of pressure to keep up with the syllabus. Sometimes the neighbors are a bit loud or there is construction nearby, but you learn to tune it out when you’re focused on grading. It’s a typical suburban life in the Thane district. I’ve lived in this flat for a while now, and the local shops know me by sight when I go out for milk. It’s not a fancy lifestyle, but it’s what I know. I put in the hours at the college and then come back here to unwind and get ready for the next morning.
