Laxmi Grah Vastu Bhandar

Bhuleshwar is one of those places where the streets are narrow and you’re always bumping into someone. Our shop is in Building No 115/117, right in the thick of it. Laxmi Grah Vastu Bhandar is a place filled with household things, from steel tiffins to plastic buckets and everything in between. We have items stacked all the way to the ceiling, so we often have to use a long stick or a ladder to get things down for customers. It’s a bit cramped, but that’s just how shops are in this part of town. We’ve been here long enough that we know many of the faces who walk through the door. We don’t do any big advertising. People just know we’re here when they need something for their kitchen or home. The fans hum overhead all day, but it still gets warm when the shop is full. We spend a lot of time rearranging the stock to make room for new deliveries. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting crates and unpacking boxes. Sometimes a customer wants to bargain, and we have a bit of a chat about it. We aren't a big department store with barcodes on everything; it’s more personal than that. We just focus on keeping the shelves full and making sure people find what they came for. It’s a busy life here in Bhuleshwar.
