This office is located in Borivali East, specifically in the Ashok Van area. We are in the Siddhi Vinayak Garden Appartment, up on the seventh floor in B 704. Borivali is a huge suburb, so it takes a while to get here if you are coming from south Mumbai, but for those of us living on this side, it’s not too bad. The building is a typical Mumbai apartment complex where people live and work side by side. Our space is basically a converted flat, so it has a bit of a kitchen and a bathroom like any other home. It makes the whole work environment feel a bit more relaxed, I think. We spend most of our time at our desks, but we occasionally look out the window at the gardens below if we need a break from the screens. Sometimes the elevator is slow, so we end up waiting in the lobby chatting with the neighbors. The neighborhood is mostly families, so it stays relatively quiet during the day until the kids get home from school. We’ve got the usual office stuff scattered around—papers, coffee mugs, and old folders. It’s nothing fancy, just a functional space where we get the daily work done for the Emsys Mumbai division. Most days are pretty much the same: we come in, do our tasks, chat a bit, and then head back out into the Mumbai traffic. It’s a simple life here and we just keep things moving.
