Kumar Sandwich

Kumar Sandwich is located in Andheri West. We stay pretty busy here because there are always people walking by on their way to somewhere else. It’s a simple setup with a small counter where we prep everything right in front of you. We go through a lot of bread loaves every single day. Our hands are usually covered in butter or crumbs by ten in the morning. We make our own green chutney every day before we open up. It’s got a bit of a kick to it because that’s how people in Andheri like it. We don't have a big fancy menu with dozens of items. We just do the sandwiches we know how to make. The space is small, so it can get a bit crowded when four or five people are waiting at the same time. You can hear the traffic and the constant horns from the main road while you wait. We don’t have air conditioning, just the open air. Sometimes we run out of potatoes or cucumbers if the morning was particularly hectic. We’ve been at this spot for a while now and we see the same faces every morning on their way to the office. We don't use machines to cut the vegetables, it's all done with a simple knife. It’s hard on the wrists after a few hours, but it’s just the job. We don’t have a website or do any big advertising. People just find us by the bread and the chutney.
