The plant is over in Kavalapur, right near the big water tank which is the easiest way to tell people where we are. It’s a bit outside of Sangli town, in the Miraj taluka. Most of us live nearby, so the commute isn't too bad unless the weather is really messy. Working at Kellogg India Pvt Ltd here means dealing with a lot of movement. Trucks come in and out frequently, and there’s always the sound of machinery in the background. It isn't a quiet place by any means. We wear our gear and follow the basic routines every single day. The canteen is where most of the talk happens, usually about local news or what's happening in the village. It’s a large facility, so you end up doing a lot of walking from one section to another. The Maharashtra heat can be tough in the summer months, but we keep the fans going. We don’t have much in the way of fancy offices; it’s mostly just practical spaces for the supervisors and the staff to sit down and handle the logs. People around here know us as the place by the water tank. It’s a solid job for many in the district. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It’s just a production site where people show up, do their shift, and then head back to their families in the evening.
