We have been at 39 Nana Shankar Smruti Building for quite a while now. Chira Bazar is a noisy place, especially around Girgaum Road, but we are used to the sounds of traffic and people outside. Our office isn't very large, just enough room for the desks and some filing cabinets that have seen better days. Every morning, someone stops for tea at the corner stall before coming up. It's usually busy with paperwork and phone calls that go on until the evening. We deal with exports, which sounds fancy, but mostly it's just coordinating shipments and checking lists. The building itself is old, with those narrow stairs that make you watch your step every time you go down for lunch. Sometimes the fans make a bit too much noise, but they keep the air moving on hot afternoons. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that. People just knock and come in. It’s a bit cluttered with boxes sometimes, especially when we have a big order moving out. Most of us have worked together for years, so we know each other's habits and who takes their coffee black. We just keep our heads down and get the work done. It isn't a flashy place, just a regular office where we handle our business day after day. We like it here because everyone knows us on this street and it feels like a familiar routine to everyone on the staff.
