Kanchan Ceramic Stone

If you walk down Fernandez Street in Jayanagar 5th Block, you’ll find us at Kanchan Ceramic Stone. We’re right there on the 11th Main, which is a fairly well-known part of the neighborhood. The shop is full of heavy slabs and tiles, so the floor is usually covered in a bit of stone dust. It’s not the kind of place where you want to wear your best shoes. We spend most of our time lifting things and showing people the different patterns on the ceramics. Jayanagar is a bit greener and quieter than other parts of the city, but it still gets busy enough during the day. We have a small desk in the corner where we keep the ledger, though it’s usually buried under a layer of dust. The front of the shop stays open to let the air in, which is nice when there’s a bit of a breeze. We don’t have any big marketing displays or fancy lights. The stones and ceramic pieces just sit there in stacks against the walls. Some of the tiles have been there a while, and others move out the door as soon as they arrive. It’s steady work, and we like being part of the local street. The neighbors are friendly, and we usually know most of the folks who walk past every morning for their walk. It's just a regular local shop where we handle the heavy stuff every day.
