Piya Eye Wear

We’ve been here at Piya Eye Wear for a while now. Finding us can be a bit tricky if you aren't used to the area because we are up on the third floor of the Ramwadi building. It’s shop number thirty-three. Most people just walk past the entrance downstairs, but once you get up here, it’s a lot quieter than the street. We spend most of our mornings just sorting through the new frames and checking the stock. The light in this shop is actually pretty good for looking at glasses, even if the building is older. We don’t have a big fancy showroom with neon lights. It’s just us and the inventory. Sometimes the lift acts up, so some days we end up taking the stairs, which is quite the workout. Our neighbors in the building are mostly offices and other small traders, so there is always some noise of people moving boxes or talking in the hallways. We mostly deal with folks who know exactly what they need or people who have been coming to this part of town for years. It’s a simple setup. We keep the counters clean and try to make sure everything is in its right place before the day gets busy. It’s just a normal workplace where we get things done. We usually have the radio playing low in the background while we work on the orders. It helps pass the time when it's slow.
