Jumboking Vadapav

Jumboking Vadapav is right in Dadar West, over by the Irani Chawl on the Municipal Land. If you know Dadar, you know it is the heart of the city and it never really sleeps for more than a few hours. We are tucked into units two and three. The space is tight, and we are constantly surrounded by the sound of the trains and the thousands of people walking to the station. We spend our whole day standing in front of the large vats of oil. The steam can be a bit much in the summer months, but we have a couple of old fans going to keep the air moving. We don’t have much to say about ourselves other than we work hard to keep up with the rush. Dadar commuters are always in a hurry, so we have to be very quick with the packing and the change. We see the same faces every morning and evening during the office hours. The chawl area has its own rhythm and we are just a small part of it. We keep our supplies in the back and there is barely enough room to turn around when we are fully stocked. It’s a loud, messy, and busy life, but it’s what we know best. We don't have a lot of time for chat, just enough to take the money and hand over the food. It’s been this way for a long time now in this little corner of Dadar.
