I’ve been running this shop in Yashwant Nagar for quite some time. It’s shop number 1237, right near the Eastern Express Highway in Chembur East. Being so close to the highway means there is always noise and dust, but it also brings in a lot of people. I handle a bit of everything here. People come in with different needs throughout the day. It’s a small space, so I have to keep things organized or I’ll never find anything. Sometimes the neighbors drop by for a chat while I’m working. It’s a typical local business. I don't have a big staff, usually it’s just me or maybe one other person helping out. The area has changed a lot since I first started, with new buildings going up, but this spot stays the same. I try to keep regular hours, though sometimes I stay late if there is a lot of work piled up. It's not the kind of place you'd find in a mall. It's practical and a bit worn down, but it works for what I do. Dealing with the highway traffic is part of the daily routine. You get used to the sound of the trucks passing by. I just try to do an honest day's work and help whoever walks through the door. It’s a simple life in Chembur. I’ve lived around here for years, so I know most of the people on this block by their first names.
