Our office is located at No. 30 Hem Prakash, which sits on Kazi Sayad Street down in the Masjid Bunder area. If you have ever been to this specific part of the city, you know exactly how crowded it gets with all the handcarts and the people carrying heavy sacks on their shoulders. It is an incredibly busy area, and sometimes it takes ages just to walk from the station to our front door because of the sheer volume of people. We are on the 90/92 stretch of the street, and the building itself has that classic, old Mumbai feel that you don't see much in the newer areas. Inside, it is usually a bit dark until we turn all the lights on, and the air often smells like a mix of spices and various chemicals from the other businesses all around us. We deal with agro chemicals here, so we spend a lot of time looking at orders and making sure the right supplies get sent out to the rural areas where they are actually needed by the farmers. It is a lot of paperwork and endless phone calls, to be honest. Jai Lakshmi Agro Chemicals has been here through many different seasons, watching the local market change over the years. The stairs in the building are quite steep and narrow, so we have to be careful when we are moving boxes around. Lunch is usually something we grab from a nearby food stall or bring from home and eat quickly at our desks. It is a busy, noisy life here, but we have grown to like the fast pace of Masjid Bunder.
