Our place is in Shree Shakti Apartment, which is right on Military Road in Andheri East. It’s flat number 102 on the first floor. If you know where Blossom CHS is, we are just near that. The society is one of those older residential buildings where some people have converted their flats into small offices. It has a very lived-in feel to it. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day long, from kids playing downstairs to the heavy trucks moving along Military Road. The lift is a bit slow, so we usually just take the stairs since it’s only one flight up. Inside, it’s pretty simple. We have the usual setup with chairs and tables that don’t quite match, but they do the job. The light coming through the window is okay, though the buildings nearby block most of the direct sun. Mumbai weather being what it is, the air conditioner gets a lot of use during the summer months. We don't have any flashy decorations on the walls, just some calendars and the stuff we need for work. It's a practical spot. Sometimes the security guard at the gate asks where you're going even if he's seen you every day for a year. It’s just part of the daily routine here. We usually eat lunch at our desks or go out if the weather isn't too hot and we have enough time to spare.
