Ice Stone

Running a place at Shop No 1 in Building No 66 is always interesting because we are so close to the Khar Railway Station. Sriram Marg is a very busy market area and there is a constant stream of people walking past our door to catch their trains. We are right near Old Dardan Lane too, which is a bit of a tight squeeze for cars. Our shop is quite small and the work we do with the stones and the ice can get pretty messy. We are constantly wiping down the counters and mopping the floor to keep things from getting sticky. The noise from the station announcements and the trains passing by is something we hear all day long. It is a very urban spot and the heat from the street can be quite intense in the afternoons. We have a couple of old chairs for when we aren't busy, but mostly we are on our feet. The walls have some scuff marks from the equipment and the sign outside is a little worn out from the weather. We don't have a lot of space for storage, so we have to be very careful about how we organize things. It is a fast-paced environment and we see all kinds of people coming in from the market. We just focus on the daily chores and making sure the machines are working like they should. It is a basic, hardworking shop in a busy part of Khar.
