Being right off the Western Express Highway in Santacruz East means we see a lot of people passing by every day. Prabhat Colony is where we’ve set up shop with our marble collection. The noise from the highway is something you just get used to after a while. We have people coming in from all over the city because we're easy to find, even if the traffic is a nightmare sometimes. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of marble slabs. We spend our time moving them around so people can see the patterns in the natural light. It is heavy work and we have to be careful not to crack anything. Some days are slow and we just sit around drinking tea and waiting for the next truck to arrive. Other days it’s chaotic with contractors and architects all asking for things at once. We don't have a polished sales pitch. We just tell people what we have in the yard and what the price is. The marble comes in and it goes out. We’ve seen a lot of different trends over the years, but people always seem to come back to the classic stone for their homes. Our office is small and tucked away in the corner of the lot. We just keep things running as best we can in this busy part of town. It’s a lot of work but it’s what we know. We aren't trying to be fancy, just helping you find stone.
