My clinic is at Shop No 786, right near the Babasaheb Ambedkar Nagar area in Colaba. It is a small place, but it serves the people who live and work around here. Being near the T L Vaswani colony means there is always someone walking by or popping their head in to ask a quick question. It is not like those big hospitals where everything is white and sterile and scary. This is just a regular shop converted into a space where I can see my patients. I have got my desk, a small exam area behind the curtain, and a few chairs for people to wait. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when a whole family comes in together. The neighborhood is lively, and you can always hear the sounds of the street coming through the door. I have been here long enough that I know most of the families by their first names. It is a lot of long hours, sometimes staying late when someone comes in last minute before I close up. I do not have a big staff, just a helper to keep things tidy and manage the files. We do not have fancy machines, but we listen to what people have to say. It is just a neighborhood doctor's office where we try to do the right thing for the folks who live nearby. Life in Colaba is fast, but inside these four walls, we take things one person at a time.
