H. J. Irani

H. J. Irani is situated at 89 Hill Road, right across from the Bandra Police Station in Bandra West. Anyone who knows this part of Mumbai knows how loud and crowded it can get. The street is always packed with people and the noise of the traffic is constant. We have been in this spot for many decades now. The building is old and shows its years, with walls that have seen a lot of history. We don't run things like a modern company. It’s a very traditional setup here. We do our business the way we always have, without any fancy frills. The police station across the road is a helpful landmark for anyone trying to find us. We see a huge variety of people passing by our windows every single day. Inside, the shop is a bit more shielded from the noise, but you can still feel the bustle of Hill Road. We have shelves crammed with old files and ledgers. It’s a tight fit if we have more than a couple of people in the back room at once. We don't use much in the way of high-tech equipment, just what we need to get the job done. We really value the long-term relationships we’ve built with the people in the neighborhood. Everyone knows us, and we don't feel the need to advertise. We just open our doors and take the day as it comes, dealing with whoever walks in.
