Golden Marble

You can find Golden Marble at 398 Maulana Azad Road, right near the junction with Duncan Road. This part of the city is always moving, and it can be quite a challenge just to get a vehicle parked near the shop. We have been here for a long time, and the building itself shows its age, but it works for what we do. We have marble slabs of all sorts stacked up wherever they will fit. It is a tight space, and we have to be very careful when we are moving the heavy stone so we don't bump into anything. The noise from Maulana Azad Road is constant, with horns and people shouting, but you get used to it after a few years. We don't have a fancy display area with bright lights. Most of the marble is just leaning there, and you have to walk through the narrow aisles to see what we have. It’s a very hands-on kind of place. We spend a lot of time wiping down the stone so people can see the real color through the city grime. It’s a gritty, busy environment, but it’s where we belong. We know the other shop owners on Duncan Road, and there is a sense of community even in the middle of all the chaos. It’s not a place for a quiet chat, but it is where you go if you need stone in this part of town.
